There are approximately 270 buried in the Fountain Park Cemetery Potter's Field, which includes a plot of 12 infants buried in succession but other children are buried throughout this section.  Records are very sketchy on this section with only 33 of the 270 plots having monuments.  Asahel Stone mentioned the poor in his book printed in 1880:

"The Board of Control shall at all times furnish burial places in which to bury persons who are too poor to pay for the same, free of charge."

The last person buried in section 6 was in 1985.  After that time the Township Trustees were able to help families which the expense of providing a funeral for their loved ones.
